The Florida DEP is relaxing the requirements regarding the renourishment of the beaches associated with the BP Oil Spill. This directive will degrade the quality of the renourishment materials used and eliminate staff from considering "contaminants" used in the "borrow material" unless they cause "cementation of the beach".
The ESWCD Board will take up this development at its July meeting.
